Pool Safety

Pool Safety & Confidence

Not all dogs are natural swimmers, but all dogs can benefit from swimming. With the exceptional amount of residential pools in Orlando, FL having a calm presence around water can save a dog's life. Being familiar with the location of the pool steps and knowing how to find them efficiently is not a luxury, it's a necessity. Pool introduction and "lessons" are an integral part of this safety.

"The best part has been watching her work with Bo in the pool, we wanted him to be comfortable around the water for his own safety. He started his swim lessons, a little hesitant at first, and over time become more an more comfortable with the pool. One day, out of nowhere, he just decided to head down the steps for a little dip and has been enjoying "His" pool everyday since. We can not thank Cherylann enough for what she has done for Jake, Roger, and now Bohdan, and we are very grateful that she a part of our family."

Often rescue dogs have experienced trauma - some by water hose, others by physical abuse. To begin a desensitization in the water, a dog can build confidence and trust. Sometimes, the trauma of one dog, who is terrified of the water, can be transferred to a new dog who is brought into a family.

At first I was afraid, I was petrified...

Thinking I could never live without you by my side...

But I grew strong and I learned how to get along!

Oh, as long as I know how to love,
I know I will stay alive,
I've got all my life to live,
I've got all my love to give,
and I'll survive!
